For Your Information
Nancamp was established in 1991. We have sent 337 children to YMCA summer camps since that time. We are an All Volunteer run organization.
Nancy Errera Bostley was the inspiration for Nancamp. Her family and friends created this unique program to honor her memory, and to continue the kindness and compassion she showed others during her life.
Nancamp is NOT a separate camp program. Eligible children attend the Marblehead/Swampscott YMCA’s summer day camp programs on Children’s Island and at the Marblehead/Swampscott YMCA building.
Our mission is to identify families affected by cancer and to offer the children in those families a two week YMCA summer day camp experience at no cost to the family.
Nancamp has been funded in part by the North Shore Medical Center Community Health Improvement Fund.
Nancamp has expanded its sponsorship to other YMCA programs, such as School Vacation Fun Clubs.
In the summer of 2007, Nancamp sent 22 children to Marblehead/Swampscott’s YMCA Summer Day Camps.
- 8 campers have cancer
- 5 campers were siblings of a child with cancer
