Giving — How you can support Nancamp

Since its inception as a non-profit organization in 1991, Nancamp has sent over 337 children whose lives are affected by cancer to the Marblehead/Swampscott YMCA summer day camps. Children attend age appropriate programs including:

Children’s Island Day Camp
Children’s Island Teen Leaders
Children’s Island Counselor in Training
Small Fry Camp

Nancamp’s goal each summer is to provide a minimum of 30 kids with this special opportunity to escape from the awful pressure, sadness and fear cancer is causing in their young lives, whether the cancer is their own or that of a family member.

In 2007, for example, Nancamp sent to camp eight children who have been treated for cancer; a young boy whose father had died a week before the start of camp, five children whose mothers are undergoing treatment for cancer, a boy whose dad is in the final stages and five siblings of a child with cancer.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, all camp fees and reasonable associated expenses, such as transportation, are covered by The Nancy Bostley Memorial Fund.

We would welcome your support for Nancamp, and ask that you consider making a contribution to this unique program for children. When giving to Nancamp, please know that we are an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Nancamp’s costs for these camp programs are:

$240 for a one-week session at Children’s Island Day Camp
$200 for a one-week session at Children’s Island Teen Leaders Camp
$250 for a two-week session at Children’s Island Counselor-In-Training Program
$460 for a full-day two week session at Small Fry/Explorers Camp

Nancamp typically sponsors two weeks of camp for Children’s Island and Small Fry programs and four weeks of camp for Teen Leaders and Counselor-in-Training programs. However, one-week sessions of Children’s Island and two-week sessions of Teen Leaders and CIT are also available.

There are several options available to support Nancamp including

“Sponsor a Child” for one or more sessions
Contribute in memory of a loved one
Contribute in honor of someone
Contribute in celebration of a special occasion.

An acknowledgement of your contribution to Nancamp is sent in your name.

When giving, please be as generous as you can. This program would have been a source of pride and joy to Nancy Bostley.
